FOSTERING: Our foster people are very important to us!

foster_frameWithout them, we could not properly evaluate our greyhound’s temperament and prepare them for their forever, loving home with their new family. Great joy can be found in seeing a greyhound experience home life for the first time and watching him/her evolving from a race dog or breeding dog to a family pet. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our foster program.

The first step would be to fill out an application and we will be in touch with you. The home visit how_you_can_help_3following the application is to be sure that the new fosters are prepared to accept the moral, physical and minor financial responsibilities (e.g. dog food) involved with fostering a greyhound.

Fostering a greyhound is a generous, but serious commitment.
We do have a foster home contract in which all points regarding fostering are explained.
Please contact Jill at TropicalJill@comcast.net, should you be interested, or call: 239-574-3319

TRANSPORTING GREYHOUNDS

Since we cannot absorb all the greyhounds in need to find a place after their racing or/and breeding career is over, we do work with reputable groups outside Florida.

We do this by doing “FREEDOM RUNS” with our JGF’s Couch Potato Express. We can fit up to 8 greyhounds comfortable into the van and always look for volunteer to drive the greyhounds to love and freedom.

Thanks to the Pilots’ N Paws’ Program, we met two flying Angels: Janine and Mike, who have saved hundreds of greyhounds by flying them, either to their destination in the Mid West, or helping them get on the way from FL up the Eastern Seaboard.

Our group could not save all of the greyhounds that are on our list to get placed, if not for Janine and Mike (we lovingly refer to them as “The pilots”). Their dedication and time and financial help is unsurpassed.
